The two days Consultative meetings was geared to disseminate baseline assessment results of existing strength and gaps in RNM training institution. In addition to the meeting objectives was to gather recommendation and feedback from stakeholders based on current trends and evidence in relation to the structure of the future RNM training curriculum. Also the meeting was organized to develop the first RNM curriculum draft framework based on feedback and recommendation from the key stakeholders in Liberia.
The meeting brought together stakeholders from the Government of Liberia, representatives from Liberia Nursing Association(LNA), Liberia Midwives Association (LMA), Partners include UNFPA, WHO,WAPCNM,PIH, Jhpiego, Last Mile among others attended
A research was conducted on some countries in Africa to determine which country Liberia can best learn from in upgrading the RNM curriculum. Amongst the countries studied , the nursing Council of Kenyan was selected based on best practices relative to training of RNM. To actualize the plan, team LBNM visited Kenya from March 18, -March 23, 2023. The team was made of LBNM Board chairman, Registrar, M&E director. The team was also accomplished by deputy CMO- Ministry of health of Liberia and PIH-Liberia Midwifery focus person.
