{"id":8871,"date":"2026-02-02T12:52:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T12:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbnm.gov.lr\/?post_type=event_listing&#038;p=8871"},"modified":"2026-02-24T00:00:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T00:00:40","slug":"accountant","status":"expired","type":"event_listing","link":"https:\/\/lbnm.gov.lr\/?event_listing=accountant","title":{"rendered":"Accountant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Duty Station: Monrovia with travels in and out of Monrovia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reports to: <\/strong>Comptroller, LBNM<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) is the ultimate authority in regulating the nursing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and midwifery professions in the Republic of Liberia and progressively leads nursing and midwifery<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>development to their highest level of excellence for the health and safety of the public.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission of LBNM is to protect the public&#8217;s health and safety by providing reasonable assurance that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the people who practice Nursing and Midwifery are competent and ethical practitioners with the necessary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>knowledge and skills required by their titles and roles under the laws of Liberia.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LBNM is an Autonomous Regulatory Body that works with other partners and stakeholders in the Republic<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>of Liberia.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LBNM is in search of a professional Liberian to serve as an Accountant who will be responsible for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>supporting the Comptroller in the effective management of LBNM\u2019s financial resources. The position<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to LBNM\u2019s financial policies, donor requirements, and the financial regulations of Liberia. The<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>accountant plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, promoting financial accountability, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>supporting evidence-based financial decision-making for LBNM\u2019s regulatory and institutional functions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EDUCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting<strong>, <\/strong>Finance, Business Administration, Economicsor a closely<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>related field from a recognized institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Experience in the public sector, regulatory bodies, health institutions, or development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>organizations is desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Practical experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.<strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Familiarity with Liberia\u2019s financial and tax regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Understanding of internal control systems and audit processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Strong numerical and analytical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Good report writing and documentation skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Strong organizational and time management skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OTHER REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Ability to follow instructions while exercising sound professional judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Financial Accuracy and Attention to Detail<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Integrity and Professional Ethics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Accountability and Compliance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Analytical Thinking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc Teamwork and Collaboration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00fc LBNM is an equal opportunity employer.
