Position<\/strong>: National Consultant for the Development of the Community Health Services<\/p>\n\n\n\n Supervisors (CHSS) Curriculum<\/p>\n\n\n\n Duty Station<\/strong>: Monrovia, and travel within the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reports to<\/strong>: Registrar\/Executive Secretary, Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM)<\/strong>, authorized by the Liberian Public<\/p>\n\n\n\n Health Law (Chapters 63 and 66 of Title 33), is the primary regulatory body responsible for<\/p>\n\n\n\n overseeing the education, registration, licensing, and professional conduct of all nurses and<\/p>\n\n\n\n midwives in Liberia. As part of its mandate, LBNM is committed to advancing nursing and<\/p>\n\n\n\n midwifery standards to protect public health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The mission of LBNM is to safeguard public health by ensuring that those practicing nursing and<\/p>\n\n\n\n midwifery are competent, ethical, and possess the necessary knowledge and skills as required by<\/p>\n\n\n\n Liberian law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LBNM operates as an autonomous regulatory body, collaborating with various partners and<\/p>\n\n\n\n stakeholders across Liberia. The Board is seeking a National Consultant with expertise in<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nursing, Midwifery, or Public Health, with a particular focus on Community Health. This<\/p>\n\n\n\n consultant will work alongside an international consultant to develop the national community<\/p>\n\n\n\n health program curriculum for Community Health Services Supervisors (CHSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Government of Liberia is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n (SDGs)<\/strong>, including Universal Health Coverage (UHC), by collaborating with global partners. The<\/p>\n\n\n\n community health program is a crucial element of Liberia\u2019s healthcare system, and developing a<\/p>\n\n\n\n robust curriculum is essential to its success. A well-trained workforce, particularly CHSS, is<\/p>\n\n\n\n critical in reaching communities within and beyond a 5km radius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n CHSS oversees community health workers in their assigned areas, serving as vital links between<\/p>\n\n\n\n health facilities and communities. They ensure quality health services at the grassroots level,<\/p>\n\n\n\n supervise and support community health workers, and facilitate communication betweenhealthcare providers and community members. They also implement public health initiatives that<\/p>\n\n\n\n directly impact community well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recognizing the importance of training for these practitioners, LBNM aims to institutionalize a<\/p>\n\n\n\n formal CHSS training program in training institutions across Liberia.
