Reports to: Comptroller, LBNM
The Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) is the ultimate authority in regulating the nursing
and midwifery professions in the Republic of Liberia and progressively leads nursing and midwifery
development to their highest level of excellence for the health and safety of the public.
The mission of LBNM is to protect the public’s health and safety by providing reasonable assurance that
the people who practice Nursing and Midwifery are competent and ethical practitioners with the necessary
knowledge and skills required by their titles and roles under the laws of Liberia.
LBNM is an Autonomous Regulatory Body that works with other partners and stakeholders in the Republic
of Liberia.
LBNM is in search of a professional Liberian to serve as an Accountant who will be responsible for
supporting the Comptroller in the effective management of LBNM’s financial resources. The position
ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence
to LBNM’s financial policies, donor requirements, and the financial regulations of Liberia. The
accountant plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, promoting financial accountability, and
supporting evidence-based financial decision-making for LBNM’s regulatory and institutional functions.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION
ü Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economicsor a closely
related field from a recognized institution.
ü Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
ü Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial
management.
ü Experience in the public sector, regulatory bodies, health institutions, or development
organizations is desirable.
ü Practical experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
ü Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
ü Familiarity with Liberia’s financial and tax regulations.
ü Understanding of internal control systems and audit processes.
ü Strong numerical and analytical skills.
ü Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
ü Good report writing and documentation skills.
ü Strong organizational and time management skills.
